SARA CURTIN

Sara Curtin is a D.C. musician / former Brooklyn fishmonger and CMJ.com Top 200 artist (“romantic groove, gossamer weight of the melody, and libidinous lyrical invitations” - CMJ.com). Glide Magazine writes “she expands the palette on what a visionary singer-songwriter can mold”. Sara made a name for herself in the folk scene with her duo The Sweater Set, but NPR’s WAMU Bandwidth describes her solo project led by “Summer”, the first “slow and sultry” single from 2015 album Michigan Lilium, as having more in common “with Sade or Sharon Van Etten than D.C.’s long folk tradition.” American Songwriter magazine featured “Summer” as a Daily Discovery. Sara also is a 2013-2015 Artist Fellow sponsored by the D.C. Commission on the Arts & Humanities.

RYAN HOMMEL

While most kids were playing cops and robbers, Ryan Hommel played Elvis. Hommel is now a touring veteran and multi-faceted producer with artists such as Stephen Kellogg, Seth Glier, Heather Maloney, Jamie Kent and The Sweetback Sisters. Coming into his own now as a solo artist, Ryan Hommel delivers his songs with a hyper-focused and intentional quiet intensity. Playing his mature, soulful and strong voice against his guitar playing, ranging from delicate and sincere to rowdy and uninhibited is just the kind of intellect that Hommel brings to his live performances; drawing audiences further and further in is the natural product of his honesty.  As Livingston Taylor observes “Ryan delivers his beautiful music with a discipline and clarity that allows it to travel straight to your soul.”  Listen to Ryan's "The Optical Shop" on iTunes, Spotify or wherever you get your music online.
